Couches Gone Wild
Belgian industrial designer Sebastien Wierinck recently designed a version of his famous bench constructed of corrugated tubes. For him, the bench is a metaphor of social relations and a symbol of urban dialogue. “Anybody can sit on a bench. It is most fascinating to watch how comfortable (or uncomfortable) it is for people to sit next to each other,” says Wierinck. From June to September, a space in Bar Strelka, a paino bar and cafe in Moscow, Russia, will become a space for compelling art, and this is where his work will be showcased.
Here's a sample of his strange and surreal work.
